Kind of high mana curve.  Consider 4 {dark rituals}. Another good mana ramp is {lake of the dead}.  A good combo with {bloodghast} is {Phyrexian tower}
{cabal coffers} and {phrexian obliterator} are great in mono black too.  {buried alive} is nice to dump 3 {bloodghast} in the GY.
