I would never support teachers if they went on strike around here. Most of em' aren't worth a damn.

Teachers make more than those in a majority of other professions and puts them in a higher income bracket than they make it seem. Seriosly look up the actual numbers behind teacher income and you'll realize it's the schools that are under funded, not the teachers.

Schools AND teachers are severely underfunded in Louisiana. Bobby Jindal, ladies and gentlemen.

Lol I guess it's ok to change your medical bennifets where it will cost you more and add another hour of work with no extra pay. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

I'm not saying that's right but in all honesty my experience with most teachers is they just don't care that much. Unless your failing their class, they don't care if you learn or not.

NCLB FTW!

While I will admit that teachers should have a small amount of interest in their students learning I believe that the vast majority of it should be shouldered by the parents. If you take an active role in your child's academics it will help them more that any teacher. As a parent of three school age children I know. Example my 9 yr daughter is interested and trying to play MtG. See already she is making wise and great decisions.

Also I believe this is making to children suffer most IMHO.

Oh yea there are some teachers out there just collecting a check. But I know some who are great teachers and spen several hundreds to a thousand or two to help there class(this all out of pocket). I guess I was luck being in mostly honor and a.p. classes most of my teachers pushed me. I appreciate what they did or I probabily would have just dropped out and not so productive part of society.

Is it sad that when I saw NCLB my first thought was "{Nicol Bolas}?"

I hope the teacher stuff gets sorted out. The longer they protest, the longer those kids are being denied the education they need. School is important, yo.
