Hi,
This morning I decided it would be a good idea to backup the app because I had been accumulating a lot of decks.
I went to the settings and hit Backup/Restore... and then it crashed. I just figured it was a crash, until I went to my Deckbuilder list and they're all gone! Oh the irony! Try to save them from a disaster and create the disaster itself!
I realize there's probably little chance of recovering but I would like you to be aware of the issue. I'm not comfortable putting my time in to making decks on this if they're going to disappear on me.

Did it crash before or after you hit Backup All? You can check iTunes if decks.imtgbackup file is there (follow the tutorial in Help for details). If you find it, email the file to me please. If you did the backup again the file will be overwritten and empty.
It was right as I hit the button on the main settings page, so I wasn't taken any further. Unfortunately, the computer I was syncing my iPod to died long ago so I haven't had my iPod backed up in years. Thank you for the quick responses and help though. I still love the app and I'm still willing to support it.
I can't think of anything in the code which would corrupt the database in this way. Did you also lost your Needed?
Haven't tackled that feature yet, so there was nothing there.
Is it possible that I accidentally hit any of the other buttons? Would any of those be capable of corrupting the database?
Database Update could, if it crashed in a very unlucky way.
Then I guess I must have hit that and was very unlucky! Do you think this crash I likely experienced could be solved in the coming update?
Possibly.
Yeah, same thing happened to me too, Piotr, except I was just trying to updateimages and it crashed. And yes, Needed,Precious and Trade Folder all gone.
I just lost all my decks except 2! It didn't crash just tried to back up all!î˜
I, too, lost all of the cards I uploaded into Trade Binder as well as my decks. I had just hit the Back up button. Once that was done, I pressed the Update Database button. The app crashed and when I opened it again, everything was gone. Is there any way to export the backups to somewhere else? Like iTunes or a .dec file or even just a backup file I can save on my comp?
Cheers.
Yes, please check backup tutorial in Help.
Send me your backup files and I'll see what I can do.
Just a thought: how much free space did you guys have on your device when it happened to you?
1.5gb give or take a few mb.
I have over 3.3 Gb free. Also now I don't have access to any cards at all, i cant upload the database. Looks like I may have to reinstall the app. :( I am going to see if I can get the file thru iTunes first though.
I had approximately 700MB of space when mine ocurred.
Ok, seems like we have a bit of a mess here. MacUser001, you are a normal honest user running version 1.16.1, aren't you. Read the backup tutorial in Help to check how to locate iMtG files in iTunes, then email me all your *.imtgbackup files. Zip the big iMtG.sqlite file (after zipping it should shrink to less than 3MB) and send to it to me too. It is possible that you have something like iMtG~.sqlite and a small or no iMtG.sqlite, in which case email me the ~ one.
Iggy, BlackJester and Spikepit - you are all beta testers. Please do not confuse me in the future, and do not post about your issues with beta in the normal forums. Post your issues in the beta section of the forums or email me directly.
Iggy, you're still running 1.16.1, follow the instructions in my email please.
Thanks for the help, but as I said earlier, I do not back up to iTunes. At least I haven't in years as the computer I was backing up to died. So there's no backup to restore from or email.
I didn't have anything in the needed or trade binder sections or anything. Just had 12 or so decks, which I'm okay recreating when the new version is out.
I'm still really excited about the app even given this hiccup.
iMtG backs up automatically when it upgrades the database. If some of the decks were created in the previous versions, they are still there in iTunes iMtG documents folder.
Hmm. That Import from iTunes button did load one half completed deck back for me. I'll take it over nothing lol.
