Title: Instants during the combat step
Post by: Shmorgamorse on September 02, 2012, 11:36:55 PM
My ignorant friend brought this up:
If I play an instant modifying my attacking creature after a blocker has been declared (for example runeclaw bear attacks and is blocked by armoured Skaab but RB is then targeted with Predatory Strike), does PS affect RB before RB and AS fight?

If the instant was played before combat damage was assessed, i.e. the end of the declare blockers step, then all spells on the stack will resolve before damage is assigned.

Take what I say with a grain of salt though. I only have a 68% success rate when it comes to answering rules questions.

yes there is a window of time between blocker declaration and damage assignation to cast and resolve spells.
