Title: Elves?
Post by: Bcstang on September 01, 2012, 04:23:33 PM
Hey so this is a question. Anyone played against elf ramp lately? I played against it w my humans lastnite and got trounced and that doesn't happen easily. Is it a viable deck? He was using {elvish archdruid} and {ezuri, renegade leader} plus all the little mana dorks and {green suns zenith}  all to great effect. Oh and {genesis wave} is it just good against aggro or can it play against the big dogs like delver and Titan ramp too?

Sounds formidable but I've never played an elf deck.  don't think it would do too good against control decks with all the board wipes like {day of judgement} {black suns zenith} and many others

Elfwave is a rediculously powerful deck and the first deck to do elves justice since {vines of the vastwood} and the other zendikar block additions rotated. Mono green right now is strong but dies easy and doesnt always swarm. Green white however has absolutly amazing synergy with the additions of {restoration angel} and {temple bellringer} to allow the {elvish archdruid} to tap and tap again for an eer growing amount of mana and then {genesis wave} into the odd ball {urabrask te hidden}, {fervor}, or more likely {craterhoof behemoth} (which flickers nicely when entering with restos). All this can happen as early as turn three.

In summary it's a fun deck to play and will steal a lot of wins but when it has a bad match up it is completely dead in the water.
