Title: Wolfrun, and Naya
Post by: An Angry Fatman on August 30, 2012, 09:53:31 PM
So there is a woulfrun deck where I play that's worth about 500 big ones and I can't beat it. Then I have problems against naya. What are some sideboard cards that would help me? I run a b/r aggro vampire burn deck.

Suggestions?

Yea, it has lots of little dudes some middle dudes and a couple big dudes with one really big dude. It's similar to their architecture.

Naya however refers to {R}{G}{W}

Seriously though. Vamps dont meassure up very well in those match ups. However if you can out race both decks with an active {vampire nocturnas} and well timed {bonfire of the damned}. {falkenrath noble} and a {thatcher revoke} are a great finisher.

Actually your problem isn't the agro. Your vampires are suppose to be anti-agro. You should have a playset of {stromkirk captain} to block creatures all day, {tragic slip} and a couple {geth's verdict}.
Your main problem since they are both red is {bonfire of the damned} and I could expect a greedy playset of them. Honestly if your vampires aren't quick enough, there is nothing you can do really.
If your truly scared of {bonfire of the damned} run {witchbane orb} sideboard and hope that it won't get {blown to smithereens}. Hope that helps :)

Many Naya Pod decks only run 3 {Birthing Pod} now for that reason. It's essentially Naya Aggro with Pod rather than relying on pod. Pod limit being 5CMC(with maybe one boss 6CMC)

If it's bonfire that scares you, {Phyrexian Obliterator} is another 4 drop like witchbane that GREATLY discourages a bonfire ;)

Yea the bonfires reck me. My deck is the fastest out of my meta. I usually win between 4 and 7 turns... And then I have put in the cages but naya just naturalize them... So I have been thinking about swapping them for {tormods crypt}

Or instead of {tormod's crypt} run {nihil Spellbomb}. The extra card draw might be useful so you draw the face up land and have {vampire nocturnus} go off.
I usually have {black sun's zenith} (for zero at times) or make my opponent forfeit when I cast 1 of my two {gravepurge} and my salvaged vampires would have nocturnus go off every turn.
