Title: Budget Turbo Fog
Post by: Silent1236 on August 29, 2012, 06:03:36 PM

Lands
4x {Plains}
1x {Evolving Wilds}
7x {Forest}
7x {Island}
2x {Hinterland Harbor}

Fog Spells
4x {Fog}
4x {Moonmist|
2x {Clinging Mists}
2x {Blunt the Assault}
1x {Safe Passage} (Yep, only had one...)

Drawing
3x {Ponder}
3x {Divination}
3x {Rites of Flourishing}
2x {Otherworld Atlas}

Removal
2x {Beast Within}
3x {Banishing Stroke} (Awful proxy for {Terminus}/{Day of Judgement}, etc)
4x {Jace's Erasure} (Sort of removal?)

Planeswalkers
2x {Jace Beleren}
1x {Karn Liberated}

Creatures
1x {Consecrated Sphinx}

Other
2x {Elixir of Immortality}

60 Cards

Sideboard
4x {Mana Leak}
3x {Dissipate}
2x {Tomod's Crypt}
1x {Elixir of Immortality}
1x {Clinging Mists}
1x {Consecrated Sphinx}
1x {Increasing Confusion}
1x {Ghost Quarter}
1x {Witchbane Orb}

15 Cards

The sideboard was actually kinda just built for the counters and the Crypts, so it is kinda just slapped together :-\.  Feedback is appreciated.  And remember, its budget, so Snappys, etc are out of the question :P

Oh, and BTW, if anyone has any foil versions of the cards above, you should totally PM for a trade :P

Instead of {moon most} or {tanglesap} just run {tangle}

I think you don't have enough fog effects, and not enough board sweepers.

Bcstang, thanks, I'll look into that.  And dudecore, can you point me to some {G} or {U} board sweeps other than {Devastation Tide}?  I don't know much about older {U} or {G} :-\

Thanks Rasser, I need some more fog spells!  And Coffee, thats a pretty cool combo (or is it synergy?  I can't tell the difference sometimes :P )  Although, I didn't realize how much Crucible was :-\

Thats one of the cards that I just haven't invested the money in for some unknown reason...

I think the best turbo fog I ever saw was WB with {holy day} {safe passage} and this hybrid BW card that makes your opponent lose life and you gain life when they attack.

Personally, I like Bant [UWG]

It can work with whatever you want though.

Yeah, I thought about using Bant mostly for W board wipes since those are the only board wipes I really have, but I don't know if I feel like investing the time and money into that.  I may though.  And what do you guys think of sideboarding in {Witchbane Orb} to keep pesky burn spells and the like from doing too much?

A must have for games against creatureless decks. Nerfs {Bonfire of the Damned} too!

It's grueling, but not a complete lock. Annoying as 💩 though.

Ok, updated with my take on Bant with the cards I have readily available.  Not done yet though :-\  And turns out I don't have any W board wipes but {Akroma's Vengeance}.  Silly me :P
