So I was watching Storage Wars last night and one of the units someone bought had some old Magic cards in it. Unlimited {Black Lotus}, Beta {Timetwister} and an Unlimited Mox of some kind. They brought the cards to a booth at some convention and the dude said he'd give them $600 for all 3. Why can't stuff like this happen to me!? Also, the guy at the booth is a jerk for ripping them off. Haha
That is awesome. The balls required to scam on camera!
Those people did get ripped off, but I think that's part of the drama of the show. They were savvy enough to identify those extremely rare cards, but not savvy enough to get at least 1/4th what they're worth? Unlikely.
Lol crazy

They brought in all the cards from the unit. A box of C/U and a binder of rares. The money cards were in the binder. I could see something like this happening if they know absolutely nothing about the cards, you bring it to someone who is supposed to be an expert (lgs, gaming convention booth, etc) and trust them to be honest.

Definitely wasn't staged for the show. The guy who found them is a total moron. He had no idea what they were worth and probably would have taken $100 if that's all he was offered.

Darrel. He also found a sword in the locker too and asked Brandon if he thought it went with the magic cards. Brandon was the one who said they should get them looked at, and he did most of the talking because apparently Darrel doesn't "speak geek".

Lol. That's pretty funny. He thought the sword went with the Magic cards.
Whoa. I recorded it. Need to watch.
Show is a scam though. On YouTube there is a video showing them at a unit and they are never supposed to go inside, on first left to right sweep of the camera it's in original condition when camera sweeps back everything is opened, lol. Some editor must of got fired for that slip.
Just watched it. Wow that doofus got ripped off! That was like 7k worth of cards at least!!!
Can't believe the guy made him flip a coin to see if he'd pay $50 more. That guy that ripped him off should be on Tosh.0's dick of the week segment lol

That noob probably thought he was smart too. $600 for 3 pieces of cardboard!! Lol
Value is in the eye of the beholder. And karma! LOL I know a guy who is trying to get into storage wars type crap and I hope he gets ripped off. I don't even like him. Hahaha
Lol I think he said something like "wow 600 for cardboard" lmao.
10 second google search brings up prices instantly. Makes u wonder

He should get punched in the face while simultaneously getting kneed in the balls. If I found that I'd frame the lotus and sell the other stuff to get more cards

I was thinking that too, but I guess if you don't know which cards to search for there's not much point. I mean, guy probably doesn't even own a computer but he's definitely not going to search the name of every card.

Yeah, but if someone offers you that much and tells you that you found the best card, you could at least look that one up.

Yeah especially when everyone in there is drooling over the cards and in shock lol
Omg why do good things happen to stupid people...they just throw it away. :(
If I was standing there when something like that happened I'd start a bidding war. "$800!!"

Yep.
I think that the {Timetwister} may have been alpha. The mox looked beta and obviously the lotus was unlimited. Easily 3k worth of cards.
You need to see it from their eyes. If you never have seen a magic card and find them, u will probley think there worthless and might only get a few bucks. So you go to a card shop and get offered 600? I would be happy myself. But getting offered that much would make me think about looking them up, to see the actual prices

I don't know it's really hard to find card prices.

Just saw the episode myself. I thought "you've gotta be kidding me..." when I saw 3 of the Power 9 in that lot... And he was only offered $700 for everything.

He is not a moron for not knowing what they are worth....he does not play magic. Now he is an idiot for not googling prices of the cards once he found out which ones are the money cards.

I'm not insinuating that he is a moron for not knowing the card prices. Anyone who watches the show on a regular basis knows that his iq can't be much above 40.
