As a long time player, since the release of revised, I ponder time to time how certain people are endowed with magic Magic. Their ability to grasp all the rules and concepts of our wonderfully complex hobby. As such I stand in awe of people like BlackJester, providing they are humble players/god things and not arrogant a-holes. As a padawan learner of rule advisory I look up to Jester and all I inspire to be.

I gotta say, all this Jester love is... Kinda getting old. Don't get me wrong the dude knows his 💩, and I WILL have some games and beers with him one day. But damn folks how many times are you gonna post new threads with the weird man love for the guy. Maybe I've just been here long enough to see it repeated so many times.

This. No offense Jester, you're awesome, but this seems like it has gotten pretty bad recently.

There are tons of smart people on this forum: scarsabrex is solid on the rules, Gorzo knows EDH, Dudecore knows Legacy, Prophylaxis is always up to date on what's happening, pretty much everyone here knows Standard better than I. That's just off the top of my head, sorry to offend if I didn't mention you.
I just stand out because I'm omnipresent on the forum.

FWIW I would never delete posts against me, those were taken down by the OP.
I hope to soon be added to jester's list of people who know their ____ for standard at least. Im great with rules, combos, and creative decks and all that is backed by a very thorough knowledge of the last two standard formats. I'm shooting for state champ this year (im sick of beating the champ and not getting his title), i know it won't be easy, but everything is clicking now (meaning last 7 months) and i am trying my hardest to help others along in their understanding of the game while i still remember what it was like in their shoes. Thank you for man loving on jester again, it's encouraged me to be more vocal here not just at my LGS.

While Jester was the focal point for the thread it was only because he is the most known "MtG" "expert". If you read the whole thing I stand in awe of all people like him and THEY inspire me to deliver deeper into the complexity of MtG.

And this inspiration should be our goal, there are amazingly bright people out there who could radically redifine the game and encourage higher level competition if only they understood the game.
