Title: Responding to triggers
Post by: Coffee Vampire on August 23, 2012, 11:37:00 AM
If my opponent casts {Geist Honored Monk}, can I cast {Geth's Verdict} as a response to the monk's ETB trigger, so it will resolve before the spirit tokens come into play?

Yep!

The trigger from monk goes on the stack after its in the battlefield. So it would be a 1/1 (assuming no other creatures are out). Then you can respond to the triggered ability. {Gut Shot} {Geth's Virdict} {Shock} {Sorin's Thirst} etc.

So yessir I believe you can!
(unless Jester comes in here and ruins my moment!)

No moment ruining here.  ;)

But the tokens will still come into play. The triggered ability doesn't need the Monk on the BF to resolve.
