Long story short, top 8 with best record of the night, lost to guy who top 8 on a fluke of a guy dropping. He was play goblins. Any thoughts on making this more burn resistant? All night i either played a delver variant or control of some sort. His was the only burn deck.
{timely reinforcements}
I'd seriously just sideboard Delver at this point, make 4-of Geists and everyone else. That's what I do in my meta at least. I play delver game 1, win, opponent sideboard all anti-delver, then I board him out. Their gameplan is shot, then game 3 side him back in.
Recently I side boarded him completely.
You're gonna want {Snapcaster Mage} too
This is interesting, seems like a more midrange-y type of delver. I want to play against this to see how things go down in this deck! Before I never looked at delver decks posted here because they were all the same...but recently there seems to be new takes on delver.
As for suggestions, I am no delver master at all. But here are some staples I have noticed while playing against delver decks. You might want to, or maybe already have considered them.
{Hero of Bladehold}
{Restoration Angel}
{Talrand, the Sky Summoner}
{Snapcaster Mage}
There must be others...I am just tired. As for burn resistant, you could try:
{Celestial Purge} - Red burn cannot rely soley on burn cards. They eventually run out of steam before finishing the job. They need creatures or enchantments or artifacts.
{Sorin, Lord of Innistrad} - being a planeswalker, he naturally eats burn. And the emblem is fantastic.
{Runechanter's Pike} - combined with a sorin token with lifelink, this could counter the burn. Burn HATES lifegain. It ruines their day. Use this also when you activate your vault.
{Vampire Nighthawk} - this card can have 2 purposes: he can eat of a card that an opponent casts that has haste (more common with red) and gain you a little life, or he can be in it for the longhaul and gain you continuous life. When buffed he's a real killer. Before he didn't stand against the lightning bolt test. Well now that test doesn't exist. Most t3 burn spells nowadays do 2 damage...even a miracled bonfire on turn 4 can only do 2 damage.
Yeah I think {sorin lord of innastred} would b a good fit here
