If I { clone} a creature of a different color does my clone become that color as well or does it retain it's casting cost color
Copy = exact replica.
Unless the original card states otherwise.
i.e. {Phantasmal Image} or {Quicksilver Gargantuan}
As a copy, the clone copies all characteristics o the chosen creature. This includes name, color, power and toughness, abilities, and more.

Yes, it doesnt specify that it targets the creature it copies, so yes. Same reason y if u clone a {phantasmal image}, the copied image wont die, because the cloning didnt target it when it copied it
