Advice? Tested a few hands and it plays alright so far. Lots of critters, plenty of lifegiving, handful of gotcha's. Not tourney or anything, just for fun.

Does {vexing devil} do anything here?

Turn 1 is what your hoping for with a devil here and that your opponent lets you keep him. Other than that, no.

Banking on a turn 1 vexing devil in a 100 card singleton deck isn't going to work out well. Devil just doesn't work well in the format. You're much better off with a {mother of runes} or other utility creature as your 1 drop. Something that will always do something, unlike devil's 90% chance of being a useless 4/3 that gets eaten alive by the big creatures that roam EDH.

It's just a low-cost critter, there's no banking going on.  The idea is to get as many creatures in play to take advantage of Goldnight Redeemer and Battle Hymn. Do token creatures count for those? I was pretty sure they did, but Now I'm not...

Yes, tokens do count - they are creatures while on the battlefield, and trigger enter/exit effects as well count for things like redeemer and {coat of arms} and whatnot.
