I want to build my first standard deck. Anyone have any good, fairly cheap, ideas?
It depends on your play style, but elves is cheap and competitive.
I'd say {W}{R}{G} Humans.
I like big creatures, but currently im just trying to find a good alternative
If you like big creature's {heartless summoning} is always fun, but not always cheap. I would actually recommend {craterhoof behemoth}. He is a very powerful kill condition and the {somberwald sage} green/(insert color here) decks are usually cheap and catch many people off guard. I recently made a cheap {gilded lotus} combo deck, as well as a land destruction {delver of secrets} deck, neither costs much and both can be easily improved upon between now and rotation. If you don't like those I have many other lists in my head, my group likes to make new things.

When i came across {Vexing Devil}, i decided to start making a burn / delver deck. Thanks for all the ideas guys!

If you like big creatures, mono {G} ramp is pretty easy really. The only expensive cards are {Birds of Paradise} for the most part. Then you can have fun with good ol' {Craterhoof Behemoth}, {Vorapede}, {Wolfir Silverheart}, etc. And {Dungrove Elder} of course. Granted, a lot of good mono {G} is rotating out soon.
