Title: Increasing mastery
Post by: Richardalcala on August 09, 2012, 01:14:47 AM
Do I have a chance to {increasing vengance} a {temporal mastery} before it is exiled. I think so but am not sure. Thanks.

I believe you do as long as you put increasing vengeance on the stack after temporal mastery and before you pass priority

Yes. Temporal Mastery exiles upon resolution, so you can still copy it while it is on the stack.

This one is questionable to me because of the wording on {temporal mastery}. It says "take an extra turn AFTER THIS ONE" not simply "take an extra turn". Technically there can only be one turn "after this one". I'm not sure, just confused by the wording.

When it adds the 3rd turn it Does add it after the turn your on (it adds it in between the turn your on and the turn added first)

It gives you multiple extra turns. I'll try and explain it as I understand it

This turn - extra turn 1 - extra turn 2

Extra turn 2 still occurs after this turn. The card doesn't have any wording like "immediately" or specify that you can only take one extra turn per regular turn, therefore you can take multiple extra turns.

ThAts the way I understood it before but technically even if you take multiple extra turns they still all occurred after that one.

I know what you're getting at, and this has come up before, but I think it's the "extra" part that's important.
Just for the interest of completion here's the relevant rule:

500.7. Some effects can give a player extra turns. They do this by adding the turns directly after the current turn. If a player gets multiple extra turns or if multiple players get extra turns during a single turn, the extra turns are added one at a time. The most recently created turn will be taken first.
