Is there any better land destruction than {liquimetal coating} {ancient grudge}? Destroying opponents turn 3 and 4 land drops are huge. Comes in handy against most other permanents. I've been thinking of splashing U into my G/R deck to lock up the combo with {argent mutation}.
Does anyone else use these cards/combos?
HOLY CRAP
How have I not seen liquidmetal yet.....time to make a deck. :p
{deadeye navigator} +{acidic slime}
You are pretty right about how destroying lands would hurt your opponent. However, with so many 1-2 drops flying around I don't think there are enough to keep the Aggro decks off you and kill their lands.
Who knows you might have stumbled onto something. I'll look forward to seeing what y'all post.
{liquimetal coating} + {metallic mastery}
Go ahead piss off your friends ^_^
Is that guy holding a {Ratchet Bomb}? Lol
Yup liquimetal coating is my favorite card because you can take planes walkers with metallic mastery and {bazaar trader} will let you keep it ^_^ and of you use {magnetic mine} with artifact destruction you can burn em
My LD used {Galvanoth}, {Noxious Revival}, and {Demolish}. Also had {Liquid Metal Coating} and {Ancient Grudge} in it.
{Liquimetal Coating} ---> target a plainswalker or land ---> {Smelt}
:)

Why kill when you can STEAL!!
{Liquimetal Coating} ---> target a plainswalker or land ---> {Master Thief} He IS the master after all. ;D

I agree, I love stealing my opponents stuff
I like it too, but I don't like running steal stuff in my decks because it makes my deck dependent on what someone else has :p

True, but with the coating you can steal ANYTHING. ;D Land, PWs, creatures, their best permanent. They've got to have a permanent they don't want you to steal.
Lol that was fun to read
Do you think you could make a competitive standard deck around {liquimetal coating}? I think the only drawback would be relying on it too much. If it gets blown up, you're screwed.
That's why you need to have {acidic slime} in there ... {liquimetal coating} and smelt will help you til ya get {acidic slime} on the board.

{smelt}? Wouldn't you rather run {ancient grudge}? Especially if you're running R/G. 2 for 1. Is {acidic slime} a game winner?

Damn, I forgot to put down {ancient grudge} ... I've placed in the top 3 twice when playing my land destruction deck and I've only played it twice ... I love watching guys get pissed off because they can't do anything.

Smelt is only 1 mana, grudge is 2. If the deck can't use the flashback, smelt is better. If it can, obviously you can more use out of grudge even if you pay more for the first cast, making it the better option. Or you can always run both :D
As for acidic slime...it's pretty good5 mana for a 2/2 seems a bit much, but it does 2-for-1 jobs usually. It's ETB destroys one troublesome land/chant/arti, and it will then either stop attacks against you for a while, trade with a bigger creature, or force your opponent to spend removal or a combat trick to get rid of it. Pretty good deal.

Both of us posted today.
2 decks with this idea posted today.
I don't think a deck based around this would work, it's too dependent on liquidmetal coating

It could work, but I see the player getting screwed every once in while ecause they could get the coating out fast enough.
