Title: Casper the not so friendly ghost
Post by: Deathseide on August 06, 2012, 03:50:02 PM
The very basic and effective core of this combo is {aluren}, {altar of dementia}, {ember-fist zubera} and {enduring renewal}
Hold off on playing the renewal until you have the other cards in play to maximize the surprise factor and to ensure you have the zubera, as the renewal will stop any conventional creature draw on your part.
  Once all the cards are in the field, sacrifice the zubera to the altar, then the zubera is returned to your hand from the graveyard with the renewal, putting two damage on the stack and counting as a zubera sent to the graveyard.
Using the ability of the {aluren} to play 3 or lower cost creatures as instants for free, drop the zubera again and repeat, the damage doubling and increasing by 2 each run through.
For the more elaborate set ups, you will need to have {tomorrow, azani's familiar} in play before you play the renewal, allowing you to bypass the no creature draw imposed by the enchantment by allowing you to look at the top three cards of you deck and choose one to put in your hand, putting the rest on the bottom of your library.
If you combine tomorrow with {primordial sage} and {fecundity} you can pretty well blast through your deck multiple times and have an almost certain chance of winning against multiple opponents, depending on what other creatures you stock in your deck.
    One of the spirit cards I play in my deck alongside the {ember-fist zubera} and {dripping-tongue zubera} (for a massive creature burst to supercharge the {altar of dementia} ) is the {thief of hope} a living version of {drain life} that activates once for each spirit card that you play.

I like it, it's complex and will be hard for my play group to follow 👍
