leveler is not a late game type of card. it has a low cmc for a reason. by placing it in the end game you are just making it a convoluted set of plays which rely on no opposing interaction and a reliance on having the right cards. if you pay more than 6 mana to make the play reliable its no longer worth it

I buddy o' mine plays Torpor Orb, Leveler, Eater of Days and other stuff along those lines.
