I don't predict that hexproof creatures will really be a problem going forward (maybe Dimir?) and they represent a low number of creatures anyway ({Geist of Saint Traft} andddddd....?). The overload benefits are good, then downright expensive for little in return. I am not sold. Even {cyclonic rift} I purchased because I want {disperse} back, I have no intention of actually using its effect.

I play only sealed and EDH, and overload is by far the bet mechanic for both of those.  In sealed, nothing is better than early game value and late game value.

Rtr commons: 30
Uncommons : 14
Rares 190
Mythics: 30

:P

Is that true? Or am I just gullible. Sad story for those (like me) who were looking to purchase a play set of common and uncommon..
VERY gullable.  ;D

Probably something more along these lines:

111 C + 70 U + 53 R + 15 M + 25 L = 274 cards.

Scavenge has both.

You'd have to buy about 6 boxes to get a playset of rares (maybe, no guarentee). So maybe a playset for $500 (common, uncommon and rare) isn't such a bad deal. You forgo the mythics and foils...but you do get the cards.

Also, this is going to probably be the most opened set in history. These card values may plummet. We shall see.

BlackJester

Not as much as you might think. Not every Tom, Dick, and Harry can afford 6 boxes, and the number of active players continues to grow. The rares might be a little cheaper while the set is in print and once it leaves the prices will rise again.

Indeed it does, however the amount of golgaru creatures with trample is low, so chump blocking your beefed creatures seems easy.  Not to mention I'd rather be casting something with that six mana rather than putting a few counters on a creature.

Of course, but you have that option with Scavenge.  {2}{G}{G} for a 5/5 body that if/when it dies is ALSO a spell in your gy is good late game.  It's like having more cards in hand, like flashback or unearth.

I think RtR will be more about the mid-to-late game.

So do we think G/W will be the way to for prerealease? Lots of token gen.

Fenster

I think azurious
Lots of good blue spells outside of the guild theme. Same with White. Cant really say the reverse about selesneya and Izzet. Just my take though.

I dont think theyre very good, because unless you have a grove of the guardian, 5 mana, and 2 untapped creatures, youll really just be populating 3/3s at most
