This is a very casual deck.
Any tips for a more competitive deck would be nice.
(before anyone starts flaming me about the Tolarian Academy, I want to say if I played in a legacy tourney. I would take it out. I just didn't want to place it in vintage, because I would have to take out the ponders and I would have to figure out what to put in.)

Tempered steel?
I found it to be too slow for competitive Legacy.

I would take out the Urzas lands. You are gonna have issues with casting blue spells. I would consider making it U/B and adding some removal and
vault skirge is a good arti creature.
mishras factory can be picked up cheap if you don't get the Legends version. There is a neat combo you can use if you want
sword of the meek and
thopter foundry....sac sword for foundry....the sword is in the GY before the foundry resolves so you can put it in play atttached to the token and keep doing it til out of mana.....it is insta speed too 👍
I love
Tezzeret agent of bolas in my arti deck. I know you hate PW but all his abilities are useful. Use first ability to find a goodie and get him rdy for his ultimate next round. His ultimate is nuts when you have tons of cheap artifacts and arti lands too. He may cost 4 mana but he is a mid game nightmare that generally will win you the game if you can protect him.

I really like this idea. I do notice that it is sometimes hard to produce blue if I don't have te Mox opal out.
For black land, do you suggest the artifact land? And maybe a couple swamps?
Also, though I don't always approve of the planeswalker strategy, after playing with Koth last night, and beating the best in my shop 2-0 I have got a new perspective.
Now to get a tezzeret. I have a Chandra and a foil resto angel for trade. Lol

Definetly run the 4 black arti lands. Look at my land base for the Arti Swarm deck I have posted.....it works well enough. I have 2 Mox opal so I count them towards land count......wish they were not legendary or I'd run 4.

Do you happen to have any of this for trade?

A rule that I usually use for legacy is:
If it costs four or more it better win the game for you ie: jace 2.0, natural order, tendrils of agony.
I would prolly up the count of ornithopters and men noted to 4 ea.
Springleaf drum is a good mana producing artifact.
Your whole win condition for a competitive legacy affinity deck is usually create equipped with cranial plating and swinging.
This is a hyper aggro archetype, so mana cost should be low.
Once again this is for competitive legacy. Just my thoughts through toying with it and playing against it.

So I took your advice and threw some black in and put in two Tezzerets along with some Go for the throat for removal.
I played a justice friends deck with arti creatures. I was suckin for removal. Do you suggest I sideboard doom blades and Torper orbs? Torper orbs should be in every sideboard, but I don't know about the doom blades. It would help with the arti removal.

That is one thing I hate about black. Should have the best removal spells but instead you get
terror which limits you a lot or go with
doom blade or
go for the throat and cross your fingers. Meanwhile white has
swords to plowshares and
path to exile WTF?

You could always use counterspells like
mana leak instead of removal. I do not think counters are good in an Aggro deck tho since you want to use your mana to swarm the board. It's a trade off either way.

Though, tezzeret is a game winner, it's just like a bonus in te deck when I have other game winners.
Just need defense I guess. My weakness now is board whipes.
