I should start with the main idea.

First of all, we design a standard deck by voting on all of the aspects of it (Archetype, card choices, etc...) and then we perfect it.

Rules:
1. It must be a standard deck and 60 cards.
2. It must be some rogue deck so that we can enjoy building and testing the decklist.

Now that I've got that off, let's see what deck we can make!

Challenge 1: Budget Limit

Before we start to build the deck, we must decide what budget constraints we must adhere to. Choose a money limit and the deck must adhere to it (We may adjust this as the deckbuilding process goes)

Community Vote: $100 as a starting limit.

Challenge 2: Deck Archetype
A deck archetype gives us some room before we choose our deck. Control, aggro, or combo?

Community Vote: Combo

Challenge 3: What's the Deck?
Now that we have the groundwork laid out, we can start brainstorming out what deck we could build.

$60 to $100?  Maybe less, a budget deck.

I'm chiming in with 100-150.

We should go with average then, $100

I agree - 100 seems like a good starting point.

Shall we now propose colour choices? With explanations, of course. I suggest using blue, due to the counter ability, low mana curve on average and the low pricing of majority of it's cards.

Agreed with green, but your reasoning?

On a side, can I also suggest that we can only vote one card at a time to save Mr Magic-Jerk posting a whole deck and telling us that it's the only way to play those colour choices in standard, or that any other card combination doesn't work, etc...

What about a deck focusing on invisible stalker, not exactly one of those sword decks but with cards like inquisitors flail, trepanation blade and titanic growths

I was actually thinking that we move onto deck archetype before color choices. We can modify the colors a little bit more after archetype.

@Spikepit: Sure.

Right now we move onto deck archetypes.. Control, aggro or combo?
