I had a red deck wins that pumped out turn 4 12/12 dragons or turn 5 12/12 dragon or two, or a couple inferno titans.
For a turn 4 12/12 just use
Furyborn Hellkite and a
Geosurge. For 5 use
Chandra, the Firebrand and copy
Geosurge, giving you 14 red mana.
I got the turn 4 off in a 3 player once. I beat one guy down only to have the other doom blade it as soon as it took the first guy out.

Is it consistant? Do you have a decklist?
Yeah, that's the thing with pumping out a giant creature. Unless it has Hexproof or something to protect it, one removal spell and it's toast. Obviously, every card has its weaknesses. You might consider running
Spellskite to act as a lightning rod for removal.

I broke the deck apart. I built to pump out monsters early and every time I did they got dead before I could say you turn.

It can be done turn two.
Turn one land and Goblin Arsonist.
Turn two land, Infernal Plunge sacrificing the Arsonist, then a Geosurge and Furyborn Hellkite at 12/12.
Of course same problem. It's going to be killed before you can swing lol.

After a decade of not playing Red, I'm finally giving it a go since Scars of Mirrodin and WOW look at possibilities I've been missing!!! 😱
(and yes, I understand these are new cards too, but still ... WOW!)

Now that's a combo I'm more experienced with! I miss Marit Larg ... that's it, he's comin out again!

So just wondering how do you lay two land on turn one 1 swamp and dark depths?
November 07, 2011, 09:24:44 AM
Good point. I think you may have just broken that idea.

Good observation, but there are ways to get mana on turn one. Do a search on "Mox".
November 07, 2011, 11:05:20 AM
Um. Yeah. See I try to build combos that don't require taking out loans and the sacrificing of my first born.

LOL
When you've played for a number of years, you gradually build a collection of "value" cards. You don't need to sell a kidney for a
Chrome Mox from Mirrodin, which is Modern Legal too.
Gemstone Caverns would be a budget way to do it as well.
That's all for a ridiculous turn-one though. Nothing wrong with a turn two 20/20 dude. I've had that happen to me.
