I had been searching for a black and white general that caught my interest for quite some time now. I hadn't payed any attention to most of the Theros spoilers but i had seen a deck tech video of all the new legendaries, which in turn led me to Triad of the Fates. Everything about this new general perked my interest. From the artwork to, the name to the abilities the Triad has. These three beauties had me brewing up deck ideas the instant I finished reading the text on the card. As most of us avid EDH players know the Orzhov Syndicate is full of fun and synergetic cards, yet none of the generals in those colors are quite as interesting as Triad of the Fates. Sure both of the ghost council cards offer fun game play options and abusive infinite combos, i.e Sanguine Bond+Exquisite Blood, yet none seemed to fit my play style for EDH. While infinite combos seem exciting to some I myself try to avoid them when i can. Obviously i still want to be tapping Triad as many times as i can in a turn doing so with no bounds seems unexciting to me. Since I have stuffed this deck full of great ETB creatures such as Ashen Rider and Angel of Despair I want them to flicker in and out as much as possible. Thats where Village Bell-Ringer and Illusionist's Bracers come in to play. we would want to have fate counters on both my ETB creatures and another on the Bellringer. With the bracers equipped target the Rider or Angel, the ability will copy which you target the bellringer with. Rider reenters and his ability resolves while the ringer comes back in and untaps the Triad for more shenanigans. Abusing ETBs is great and fun but we all know that card advantage is king. This is why i have included creatures with token generating ETBs such as Skeletal Vampire and Abhorrent Overlord. Using Triads ability to exile and draw two cards is going to help draw into answers and my game winners. I also included a couple planeswalkers that generate tokens to give me more bang for my buck, such as Elspeth, Sun's Champion and Sorin, Lord of Innistrad. not only can the produce tokens i can flicker for card advantage the also have built in buffs to push my creatures through for the winning damage.
