Tecently picked up my old Pokemon:Fire red and remembered how much I loved it. I've not been playing a week and had beaten all the gym leaders... Anyone else?

I protest X and Y because they're all three-D and .poo.

Umm? Excuse me?

Poo?

X and Y are going to be fantastic. We have been wanting 3D graphics for Pokemon forever. Scrolling 2D is cool and all, but I can move diagonally. Plus, new faerie type is going to be fantastic. The problem wih black and white and it's predecessors, dragons were hard to counter. Essentially the only way you beat them was with equally powerful or stronger dragons.

It's gonna be huge and any avid Pokemon fan wouldn't call it poo. Sure blue and red and yellow were good, but the new games are way better. Setting nostalgia aside, they offer a million times better in gameplay and replay value. And a lot more in competitive play.

I've played the crap out of soul silver. Easily my favorite game of all of them.

In regards to X/Y: I'll be buying a 3DS solely to play them. Although, this fairy type makes me want to show extra love to Haxorus while I still can :(. He's just so good!  I've been playin since gen 1, stopped at gen 3, then picked it up again with Black/White. Haven't played a single one I don't like!  B2/W2 were excellent!  Easily spent 100-ish hours in it. Then decided to do a nuzlocke and lose everything :-\. Not quite my best decision.

Haven't played in a while simply because I got bored with EV training :P. I'll pick it back up when a friend of mine starts talking about it and piques my interest lol

When I still had my DS lite, I played leaf green.  But then, I bought a DSi, and my DS lite broke (the top half was actually ripped off of the bottom half), so i couldn't use the game anymore, because it was a Game Boy Advance (or maybe color, whichever is newer).  So, I gave my game to my friend, who still has his DS lite, and he took all the Pokémon off my game and onto his (after beating the final four or whatever they're called, of course).  My venusaur is still one of his best Pokémon.  I gave it to him around level 70, and he got it to about level 90.

As much as I like Pokemon, they really need to stop making new ones, it's pretty obvious they're out if ideas, I mean seriously, ice cream? A garbage heap? Really? Pokemon has fallen, let it rest in peace, remake the old games (1st gen or 2nd gen) go no further, the originals will always be the best

LOL

Gen 1 had a pokeball Pokemon. If voltorb would have been released in the most recent gen, he would have been rediculed beyond belief, but because he was gen 1, all hipster kids love him.

Makes no sense. Gen 1 had mice, turtles, worms. Yet that's apparently so super inventive. They could mix around all the gens and it wouldn't matter what was released, if it was after 1-2, they would be hated because close minded people who don't even care enough to attempt to play AND enjoy the games past silver/gold don't like them.

It's sad. And Pokemon by far has hit a low point. It's still really huge in every aspect.

They did remake Gen 1 and 2. FR/LG and HG/SS. No need to do it again. If they're going to redo any of them, I want to see a remastered Emerald.

Ruby/Sapphire remake would be so good.

Or Pokemon snap or stadium. But for the WiiU. Handheld would be bad because not enough sprites.

The only way they'd remake games is if they had a fundamental change in them. When they did the Gen 3, they added IV's or EV's or something, and that made it incompatible with Gen 1 & 2. That's why they remade Red & Green, and ultimately Gold & Silver. They had to give you a way to get those gen pokemon.

Personally, I'm stoked for X/Y. I still need to finish my dex in White 2 though. :( I've been procrastinating it in favor of KH: Dream Drop Distance.

I've played Pokemon for years, but I've never once filled out my pokedex or seen a shiny :-\
