If you've ever seen those tv specials like the tenth kingdom or dinotopia they are kinda like that, and they are very well made for being like that.

Nice! I'm stoked to check them out. I've been leery of tr British made for TV stuff since I tried to watch the miniseries based on Neil Gaiman's "Neverwhere". So awfully aweful.
