Ok so Im just getting into commander and Ive been using a friends deck but now id like to make my own. Right now im looking for a good commander. I did a database search and looked at all the legendarys, but since I have very little commander experience I do not know which ones play well. I do not want to buy a commander starter deck thing either. Id like it to preferably be 3+ colors too. Any suggestions are greatly apprecieted. Thanks!
Well I like getting a lot of creatures out (tokens and regular creature cards) and then doing a beatbown/aggro. And yes, Glissa is a pretty good commander. She is the commander in my friends deck that I am using. I thought about making a deck with her, but then I thought Id try something new.
I also like getting a few big creatures out (like with elvish piper or something). The only 3+ color commander that I am not going to use at all is Mayel, the Anima or whatever it is, because 5 of my friends use her and it gets boring after a while.
If u want an easy build go with Uril the miststalker. He is a powerhouse at a reasonable price and the entire deck should be pretty cheap also. He is one of the best multiplayer generals
Animar of the elements is a decent general for large scale creatures.
Remember however that especially if this is your first deck large creature cards with good abilities are generally legendary or mythic and can be expensive.

Having looked at Animar myself for a commander just today, I just found him for $2 on tcgplayer.com. So he himself is not that expensive, but yes some of the larger more powerful creatures can be a tad more expensive.

Chromat is all 5 colors and is amazing! And only $2. Run him with fist of suns Pentad prism, and channel of the sun and get him out on turn 4.
