3-1-1 using an omnisience combo deck. The tie was voluntary to ensure we each got 3 packs. The transformation sideboard saved me against rdw and vamps while the mainboard handled most everything else with minor side ins.
I went 0-0-4 with UW Delver... went to time every match, all against aggro lol a little too grindy vs aggro. One game against GW aggro we didn't even finish game 1.
FNM 12/07/12 - What decks are you playing? - What does your meta look like? - Will I ever get through a thread without hating on Thragtusk? - How do you feel about the current standard environment?
- Im playing 5 color lotus again, but i am undecided on the focus for this week. Dennis is playing Competitive Rakdos.
- I expect to see junk re-animator, bant control, selesnya beats, rdw, planeswalker control, ramp in X spells, vampire control, naya aggro, spirits (both aggro and control), low budget tokens, low budget werewolves, and rakdos variants
- I love the randommosity but it hasnt served me too well this month, last week was my best record in a month and im having trouble adjusting to not being in the winner's circle. I have to find the balnce between swallowing my pride to conform to winning strategies and being truly creative.
I'm holding out that Control might be viable, unfortunately too many decks are aggro and without an amazing counterspell (Syncopate being the only thing really resembling a playable counterspell) and ramp decks I'm having problems.
I've played some form of control/tempo for my entire MtG career, this is one of the worst environments I can remember. I almost need to splash red for Pillar of Flame for Gravecrawler, Geralf's Messenger and mostly any ?/2 creature.

I'm gonna try my altered Jund Control. Went 3-0 last two weeks I played with it, but I needed a nastier deck for meta. Looking at naya, bant, rdw, and plenty of thragtusk this weekend.
In my playgroup tonight I went 0-5 in game 1. Then went 20-0 in game 2-3. Standard does have a real problem with no "good" counterspells, Syncopate does do work, but not really enough. Aggro is king, my undefeated game 2+ was strictly based on sideboarding my control cards for aggro.

I'm running one of those defender mill decks with the Axebane Guardian + Galvanic Alchemist combo. I also run Ludevic's Test Subject because I can flip it very quickly. At FNM I went 2-2. Lost to tokens and rakdos Aggro but I beat reanimator and killed a BOW deck
3-2 this week. Bad mana screw led to a round 5 loss against a favorable match-up, oh well. 5 color lotus performed very well and still caught people off guard when i dropped three cards and said game over.
The rare Monday night playgroup went 7-0 (we play a bunch of games...) with imtgapp.com/.....opic=15098.0 . Gonna play test again Wednesday and Thursday before FNM. I don't love relying on Runechanter's Pike, but my lord is that card unstoppable vs. Rakdos.
