I will eventually like to be in too I just need to find the time..... Does anyone know of a software that would convert .dec files to .cod files for cockatrice.
Why not just recreate 'em? It only takes a few minutes.

I'd like standard

And also, i think we should have a trust-rule that we should only be able to use cards we actually own.

I agree with the trust rule. I prefer Modern or Legacy, but standard is good too.

How about "i trust that you may not have the cards, but you are following the 4-cards limit and other restrictions correctly, so lets play this playtest match without using our own cards because that is what it is for - playtesting a deck without having it yet"

I think it should come down to a gentleman's agreement. A person gets together with who theyre playing and discuss if they can use cards they dont have or not. I think that would be less hassle/butthurtness than having a universal "only cards you actually own" rule. Just my opinion.

If you can't enforce a rule, it's probably not worth making it.

Exactly

I don't care what decks they run as long as they play by the format rules. Most people on cockatrice use cards they don't own. The program is mainly used for play testing anyway. The way I see it, if my deck beats someone's $700 net deck they don't own than I'm doing something right.

I think if you export it as a text list (email it to yourself with imtg) cockatrice has an "import from text list" function

Ok thanks ill try that

KulrathKnight

Fair enough. I see where you guys are coming from disagreeing with the potential rule... It would be difficult to enforce.

Still stating your "rule" is better than not ever saying it.

I think that is easily debatable and not worth discussing since it becomes an argument about principles versus reality, which don't always tend to coincide.

Update. Pairings will be done tonight. They will be posted Friday night (most people are at FNM so you can play Friday night but will have until Sunday night to finish your game). The WINNER we need to contact me. Monday morning the standings will be updated and we can go from there.

I am thinking since we are playing 1 a week, we should do best of 5. What do you think?

Desolatus

Best of five sounds fine to me. Am I included?

Willthomjr

Along with a record, a points system like 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss sounds right. I am going to try to use my stats software to do this for me real quick but everyone will play everyone. I think this is supposed to be fun too and everyone should play everyone. Notice it says league and not "playoff" or "tournament." I would like it if you could use only 1 deck per week. And stay tuned for format change. If you elect not to play for the week, you will need to contact me so I don't just give someone a win because you are busy.

I will update the OP to as many people that post here tonight. Friday however no one else can join. I think this post has been up long enough to attract people.
