I'm not that good so I'm not sure I want to throw $10 away lol

We could use paypal to pay the prices. It would be safe, easy and, if someone who said would pay doesnt, we can track it and he is out the next turn. I dont think the league should have the price pool though, i think it should be a playoff, or maybe run paralel tournments, where all compromise to pay before it starts

Thanks for the feedback guys. Like I said if we don't want to do it, fine.

Also for people checking, I will PM everyone on the final list tomorrow. So from the day you get the pm, it's the responsibility of the individuals for a time to play and must be done by Sunday night. If your opponent doesn't show, you will get 3 points.

Sounds fair.

And since this is a test run, in the future I will make pairings by Wednesday, and still have to play by Sunday. That way there should be no dispute "I didn't have the time. Or I didn't check the forum all weekend"

I'd love to do a prize thing, and really, for debit card users like myself, ATMs usually do $10 increments, so I could do that. Granted, that doesn't answer for anyone else.

Not that I'm planning on playing but you can try this. Everyone who plays can choose to either get into the prize pool or not. If you choose to it cost $xx. If you choose not to you cannot win a prize and you will be skipped and the next person in line who paid would win. Just a suggestion.
That way people won't feel obligated to pay to play.

I see.  So people who want to can throw in money and a prize pool will be collected and I'll divide it according to TOP 3 since we're only playing with 24 people.  I won't start it till next week since this weekend will be the test run.

Brings me to another point, this weekend is a test run like i keep saying...so we wont keep record and that way we can figure out prize thing.  It will also give us a good idea of who will play on a regular basis.

I like this idea that way no ones pressured into anything they don't want to do

Are we using the same decks start to finish? What format?

Rass

Also may want to see how many people are in for the prize pool before you decide on how many pay outs.

And if you need any help or ideas on keeping scores I have run a bunch of other tournaments and I can help give you ideas

I believe Standard, and using the same deck is optional according to Willthom

I would suggest before you actually start to post a thread about all the rules and consequences for breaking them. And all possibilities too.
