So I have the Berserk Collectors Edition Beta card and I wanted to use it in this deck I'm making but I've been told it is not allowed in tournaments, is it because of how it looks from the back and the way the corners aren't round?

BlackJester

Collector's edition?

You can't use any cards that have a different backing. You should not be able to distinguish any one card from another when there are no sleeves.

You can use Alpha though and they had different corners. Whyso?

Last I heard you couldn't use Alpha, only Beta. I don't know if that has changed.

You can use the beta cards in tourneys but the collectors ed you can't. Besides the back being different the front of the card is also gold. Only white and black bordered cards are legal.

So, by "get away with it", you mean cheat?  I would advise against, but do what you will. ::)

Jdogtoocool

Lol no I meant as in be allowed to use it

BlackJester

Does it have the standard MtG card back?

Jdogtoocool

It's gonna be sleeved so I don't think it matters does it?

BlackJester

By the official tournament rules, it does matter.

Jdogtoocool

Yup you're right confirmed
